Emily Ratajkowski speaks to New York Times writer Lauren Christensen about her debut essay collection entitled “My Body,” to be released on November 9th by Metropolitan Books. Emily revisits her desire to have control over image, one that she expressed in “Buying Myself Back”, the essay published in The Cut last year, which will be included in her anthology. The subject of her image is not exclusive to the treatment of her body, but also to the respect she is given as an author writing about her experiences. In this article, Christensen discusses Emily’s objective – her book was not written to amass fame, she specifies, but is dedicated to uncovering the commodification of the body and the nuance of womanhood.
